I currently have a genuine land rover tow bar on my 110 that is this style (link (not mine just an example))
The only probelm is that I have since misplaced the bolts that hold the bottom side rails (captive nut) to the main drop plate. Does any one know what size they are?
Before anyone says to measure the holes I have just had it galvanised along with some other parts so I need to retap the holes to the correct thread to clean out the galv. Hence needing a size not just a part number.

It will be metric and probably 10 or 12mm. Try both taps in hole and see what one fits.

I think they are M12 but the threads in the hole are full of galv so currently nothing will go through it and a tap will be recutting the threads to clean out the zinc. I do not want to run the wrong tap through it and damage the steel threads already there.

On my disco, they are 12mm. The ones to attach to the chassis are 10mm. The ones to attach to the rear x member are 12mm and the tow ball bolts are 16mm.
