Hello
My Series 3 Sandy came with Zeus Discs on the front and stock drums in rear.
I changed out the front Zeus discs for the Torrel disc brake conversion .
I sourced from Rocky Mountain Parabolics

www.parabolicsprings.com

The Zeus setup was difficult to source parts.
The Torrel setup uses american Chevy GM calipers.
I like it so much i adapted the kit to the rear brakes .
My 109 now stops like a modern truck with vacuum assist brakes.
I already had the vac assist and now it works as it should.

I plan on changing the flex lines as the were designed for the front but i had to move the truck and test drive

That looks very neat. I've been considering the Heystee conversion but the Torrel looks very interesting. I will now consider that too, price looks good and the Torrel calipers look better..

Fitted heystee's to my 1957 series one front axle using vented discs and defender calipers can't see any images of the front axle to compare

I like that a lot, both in concept, and execution. Genuinely. Discs are superior to drums in every possible way. ( IMHO ) Only the transmission brake to sort now ;) :D ....

A minor point would be the flexi pipes on the rear calipers - which I can't see any use for - Ok, they adapt the hard line to the banjo fitting on the caliper - but they also add several more joints into the system .... if possible, I'd suggest re-arranging the pipework on the rear axle to put the pipes in the lee of the axle ...

Nice SIII too, and a great location :)

E-mailed Rocky Mountain UK, very helful but they no longer are the UK agents for Torrel. Will see if a direct purahcse is possible or look at teh Zues kit. What lI like about he Torrel and Zues kits is that the swivles stay on, that saves a lot of work and as my swivels are ok and look like they have been on 50 years (they have army leather gaiters) I'm keen to leave well alone. I have std LWB wheels and it apprears that the Zues kit requires 6.5 J to clear the calipers so I need to get a set of Wolfs, not a killer but its all time and money.
