Topping up gearbox and transfer box levels from inside the cab, is this possible?

I've not looked yet but can I get to the required bolts to do this if I lift the middle seat and slide the metal lid/cover away? If I can...what am I looking for exactly? I've seen in other threads that the bolts I need to remove to top these boxes up are on the side of the units, can I get to these from inside the cab as I have no ramps, axle stands or jacks at my disposal. Cheers guys!

I have no ramps, axle stands or jacks at my disposal.
Lets' hope you don't get a puncture then.

I do mine from below, easy to do without jacking the car up. My filler plugs are square, just use a 1/2" spanner. I bought a Sealey oil syringe to fill the boxes, easy.
If you need a bit more clearance, drive up on blocks of wood or something.

You need it for the go or when at home?
If at home, as spyder said, you get to them from below without ramps or such.
If you need it for the go I'm currently working on an automated refilling system for diffs, gb, tb and od. Might take 2-3 months to completion though.

For checking and topping, I agree with above, do it from under the truck.

If you need to replace the oil, you can drain if off and then remove the seat base and tunnel, pop off the top covers on the two boxes and pour the new stuff in. Putting 2.5 L in the transfer box using a syringe is a bit tiresome.

Elaborate :)

I'd guess he's going with tubes through all the filler plugs so, when at right level no oil comes out, but when drops oil will fill the void, then have a master reservoir somewhere...

That would be my appraoch, though, personally, don't see it being a big issue to do it the old way.

This was my first idea, but now I'm on the way of having a tiny level sensor in the normal plug, plus filler tube.
Must be a closed loop system, as you can't be sure that no air escapes (like in a deep sea bell), as the OD for example has a breather hole.

Not as simple as it seems on first glance, but I'm already working on the controls now. My prototype should be in my landie in 1.5 months. Will see then.
(That there are breather holes I realized only when my model had a leak, but it didn't leak water(I tested it with water) but air, from above...)

So you have to control the pressure on the filler tube. Easy to do, but getting it rugged and failsafe is what I'm at at the moment.

Cheers

I usually top up from inside but I haven't bothered screwing down the floorplates for years!

I didn't particuarly think it was simple in the first place! (Not impossible, but, not exactly straight forward) So good luck to you, would be interested to see your results when your done :)
