Hi everyone, first time posting so hello all!
I relocated from London after nearly a decade up to Lancashire in November 2020, and for the first time ever I realised I had absolutely no excuse to not buy a Defender, which I've dreamed of owning ever since rolling round the tub of a family friend's old 90 back in about 2000. 8 year old me thought bench seats and nearly hitting the roof as we bumped up and down in fields was the best thing ever.
So in Jan this year I bought myself a 1996 Defender 90. Absolute beaut of a machine, very well looked after, a few mods but very much original in nearly all aspects minus a bit of chequer plate and some quality of life improvements. She's not the finished article but needs very little doing to her apart from a few bits and bobs and general upkeep. So far she's seen me right on a couple of short green lanes, had a load of fun wading through the local flood plain by my better half's parents place, but more importantly has already done some charitable work delivering sandbags throughout my village.
Couple of photos attached - parked up and needing a wash, out in some nearby woods, and the results of my first clean of the air filter shortly after purchase...!
Done a few bits inside, but next thing will be a new bumper as you can probably tell from the photos it needs slinging and new put on. Which will lead me nicely into my next post and part of
the reason why I joined up...
Looking forward to meeting you all, and thanks in advance for putting up with all my silly questions!
Cheers,
Will
