too good to be true?

hi there - as an overseas buyer, I am interested in this RR 06 Sports model. but it's a complex story....

exported from Aus to UK when the UK parent company went broke...
unable to be registered as it failed UK EU emissions laws....
only good for export.....

Does this seem like a far fetched story, or is this in fact plausible? I'm otherwise very interested....

A second round of more stringent emission standards applied from 2002/2003 model year (for new/existing models). Emission Standards: Australia: On-Road Vehicles and Engines

The ad indicates a date of Febuary 2006 as the registration date....

The Australian regs for 05/06 indicate Euro 3 or better
06/07 indicates Euro 4 or better

The UK regs are Jan 2005 to Sept 2009 - Euro 4

Depending on when in Aus the change in 2006 to Euro 4 took place could mean it is a Euro 4 spec car....

A call to Land Rover with the VIN - they might just be able to tell you the build spec...
