Bought a running 3.5 efi. I am running out of time to mess about if the one that's in won't work, it needs to come back out as the crank seal has started weeping so will put the new one in and sort the other one out for the CCV trialer.

I have a 3.5 efi and gearbox for sale mate :)

It's all in the rangy still so you can come see it all running nicely :p

Why can 1 bolt cause so much stress

Putting the radius arms on, one bolt was quarter of a hole out on the front axle bolts, even after the rear bolt was in. Managed in the end and front suspension back together but still putting the brake pipes tight so need to re assess that.

Can anyone see what we did wrong with this?

Can anyone tell me how easy it would be to fit a 300 series Disco plastic fuel tank as I have been given one?

A evening tinkering :)

Roads were quite at 8.45 tonight, can't think why

I sorted a few bits out of the rangy so I can lift the floor to get the tank in and the engine swapped.

Thought I would try and fit the Disco plastic tank.

Hmm, don't fit

Don't fit because it's a Defender tank

So the cradle and tank strap that is on its way is useless :mad: sod it, eBay buy it now £24 delivered  that will do.

I am getting grief from the boss to shift the SE shell before harvest so as it was a nice sunny evening I started to strip what was left on the SE.

Not much left now, I will get the gas out at the weekend and chop it up, great way to chill out.

Bit of tidying and prep work for tomorrow. Fetched the beautiful working 3.5 which was an hour away. Who knew that a V8 could fit in the boot of a D1  with the seats up

Big push tomorrow, hopefully time to take some photos :)

Quite a lot done today, with a little helpful hand from Killajoules..

Firstly I finished plumbing the sink in

Then I cut the SE up.

Apart from a tidy up well decided to leave the replacement V8 till next week.

Such a lovely night tonight and the wife picking up the boy I had some time to tinker.

I took the starting gear, flex plate and other bit's that I don't know there name off the crank.

Then, in a moment of madness I decided to steam clean the engine

And with the engine over a drain I could begin

And I got drowned

Nice box of shiny things on the mat when I got home so the crank seal, flywheels and clutches can go on the engines to clear a shelf in the workshop.

So clean it might as well be new...

Wait... you managed to get the allen bolts out of the crank?!?!?! What the hell did you use?
