Tinkering with my Vogue

Edit: I thought I should change this as things altered from when I started this thread. Originally I was going to do some minor repair jobs and maintenance on my Rangy this has since escalated into a all out rebuild. Happy Reading :beer::beer:

Hi All,
Thought I would put a thread up on some work I have been doing to my 1984 Range Rover Vogue.

I bought it in Feb 2008 of a bloke that was selling a S2A but wanted to much for the S2A so bought this off him for £150

It had been sat off the road for 18months as he had bought a diesel replacement. It started first time and drove well.



I didn't take many photo's when I was doing the suspension but as I do more work I will take more photo's

Winch and Bumper Modifications



I have also wired in a 2nd battery for the winch and T-Max Dual Battery System.



The new battery was a tight fit, but by turning the radiator mounting bolt around, shaping the bracket and lining it with some fuel hose to stop it rubbing the battery it went in.









As I do more I will post more, there is plenty in the pipe line and I want it on the road soon. Thanks for looking.

A bright primary colour would be great for an off roader

Got a work colleague who has a 90 in Monti Carlo Blue, think that would be my first choice.

Its taken me long enough, more as a as and when, the back is full of parts that I have bought off e-bay and acquired from places. Next project is converting it from a auto to a manual :crazy: I got the box and parts off e-bay then pre sold my auto box so shouldn't be out of pocket for long..

Done a bit more this afternoon..

Hopefully the number plate will pass a MOT being there!!

Hmmmmm - maybe not!!!

But then again....depends on the mood and knowledge of the tester I guess.!!!

My Disco passed 3 MOT's with a number plate sticker on the bonnet! Sure you'll be fine.

Seen a few about so thought it should be ok, Thanks for the encouragement..

Worse case just cable tie a proper number to the front bumper so its flat. Then take it off and put it in the shed till next year!

My LT77 gear box and pedal box turned up today, Needs a good clean up but hopefully will fit right in, Its even got oil cooling Think I have sorted the Clutch and Flywheel so will be posting pics when I do the swap..

Done some work on my gear box today.




Re sprayed the peddle box for the manual gear box as well, found that the master cylinders have been leaking, something else to put on the shopping list..







After some sand blasting it looked like this:

Looked at the PlastiDip video, would be good but need to do a lot of cleaning back to metal and re-paint due to corrosion so think I will take the panels off, clean back to the metal and re-spray. My boss has let me convert a old hay loft at work into a spray booth and plumbed a compressor into it for me. Something makes me think I will be re-painting allot of machinery for him though

Yes and jolly good stuff it is too. I had a rear cross member and some boot floor side extensions from them, wish I'd had a headlamp box as well 'coz the Britpart one was very poor.

I sent them a question about parts and got a reply at 8pm on a Sunday. Liking this company more. Did a search and didn't find a bad post. Will be ordering from them then.
