Do chassis rot predominantly from the inside out?

Random thought; would filling a new chassis with fire-proof expending foam help?

I was contemplating filling the back of my new front bumper in, cutting off the excess giving it a quick sand and spraying it black - when I thought about the chassis...

I didn't think it would soak up water being made from the same stuff as celotex (kingspan etc) cavity wall insulation boards??

1992, and it isn't too bad, but the idea crossed my mind when I read folk taking new landys to waxoil places straight from the dealers...

Doesn't form a watertight bond to steel so water would get between steel and foam and then move, via capillary action, throughout the chassis. best way to get quick rot

If you did ever need any welding doing, no welder would weld your landy as it could set on fire and toxic smoke
