Hi all newbies first question and it's a doozie. Ok bought my brothers td4 (2001) for a song (£250),never worked on diesels before and i'm only a bodgit and scarper not a full mechanic. Done the clutch (damn ird unit lol), rear electric windows and general maintenance. Now here's the embarrasing part, did a service and twisted 2 glow plugs off. OK...head off job, done and nearly dusted, went to put the rear top guide rail in for the timing chain and not having read the bible properly hadn't put the lock on the tensioner. So now the plastic on the guide rail has been snapped and bottom of the tensioner housing where the guide rail goes as well. Book says heads got to come off again,
the question is can i fix it from the side without the head coming off again?
tha all
