ticking noise

a bit of a hard thing to describe but i have a sort of ticking blowing noise comming from the back of my engine near the top (sort of exhaust manifold level)i put my hand round the back and i can feel some thing blowing but cant see nothing as it is to far in any ideas please ????????

So is this a Honda steppy or a Boeing 747 ?

i have put my hand round the exhaust manifold but nothing seems to be blowing from there,but if i go round the opposite side of the manifold and put my hand round the back of the engine sort of below the rocker cover that is where it seems to be blowing.

My old disco was doing this once turned out to be the copper washer under one of the injectors had rotted away easy fix cost less than a quid in parts.
