1989 3.5 Efi. Wanted to set the butterfly today, using a feeler gauge. Consulted the haynes book of bollocks. I have the correct feeler gauge and I can see the end of the screw I want to adjust, but how do I turn it?!?! Helpful haynes says "use a small allen key"?!?!? Thanks for the specifics haynes, what size f*cking allen key?! Then it says "adjust from below". Below what? The back wheel? The fuel filler cap?

Access is limited so I would like to know where it is adjustable from? Logically the plenum chamber needs to come off to gain access to make an adjustment. Is this correct?

lot easier with plenum off as you can see what you're doing. very small grub screw under throttle linkage, will probably be seized too. managed to adjust mine by tweaking linkage. give it a good clean whilst you've got it apart.

Thanks mate. Appreciate the quick reply. Everything is spotlessly clean already, just put the engine back together. I'll pop the plenum off and have a look, I bet you're right though, it'll be bloody seized!!

pop the plenum heater off while you're there and check for gunge and ensure the two water pipes connecting it are in good order, they often weep frrom here unnoticed and again is much easier to sort while plenums off.
