Hi all. List of questions if anyone knowledgeable fancies helping out.

1. Anyone know a good 4x4/land rover specialist around South Yorkshire.

2. Is there such a thing as the above being paid £50-£100 just to look around your freelander and tell you if anything needs fixing or looking at. Basically a mini mot or something.

3. Does anyone know the average price to tint all windows in 5dr freelander. 100% back, legal 30% fronts.

4. Price of a garage correctly fitting front and rear light guards for freelander 1.

5. Does the dash/instrument panel surround & fans just pull off and clip back on (sanding em,painting em)

6. Cost of fixing sunroof. As it won't shut. Motor just makes a clicking noise so I have to manually pull it shut. So not using it right now just keeping it closed.

7. Front doors won't unlock with Central locking. The little sticks on the door don't even pop up. Having to use key to unlock door. But wierd thing is, the central locking works locking the doors.

8. Struggling to find somewhere what sells dash lights and backs. To replace the green rev counter etc... With a white one with white lights.

9. The clock on dash doesn't work, the backlit thing is on but no numbers. Cost of fix? And can I replace the green back light to white?

10. Cost of a garage fitting a front nudge bumper with the fogs on em. Seen them kicking around online.

11. Seen plenty of replacement land rover badges for exterior so they're black. But can't seem to find a black "freelander" badge for the rear. Any one know if they exist?

Why not put it to a main dealer or Kwik Fit for an MOT, they will dream up faults for you!

Phoning a garage is on my to do list. No harm in asking people who have experience with land rovers. Isn't that one of the main reasons for owners clubs and forums? For people who have the same cars to chat and ask about them?

If everyone had same attitude of "why post when you could ring or search around" no one wud ever post and the forums wud be pointless. So why bother posting pointless replies

If you click on his profile, you'll notice he's a disco boy. Probably bored while someone welds a new floor in his shed on wheels.
Rise above it, and throw some insults back :p

Hear! Hear! This place is not as friendly and helpful as it likes to pretend it is.

I won't even try to pretend I know anything about freelanders or cars in general if I'm honest. Takes everything I have to remember it's petrol not diesel lol only thing I am capable of is painting interior bits as I once did it to a ford focus.

That's why I'm asking all these questions. Because I am the typical guy who gets stung from dodgy garages with huge mark ups and jobs not needing done.

In a nutshell I'm just trying to fix my central locking and sunroof. And make my car nicer to look at.

Umm don't know the area, but now you own a freelander you are best off learning to spanner!

2. Is there such a thing as the above being paid £50-£100 just to look around your freelander and tell you if anything needs fixing or looking at. Basically a mini mot or something.

Most garages will do an inspection or put it in for another MOT

3. Does anyone know the average price to tint all windows in 5dr freelander. 100% back, legal 30% fronts.

Varies where in the country you are. But Lidl have had window tint in for £4.99 for a vehicle set. If you fancy having a bash yourself.

4. Price of a garage correctly fitting front and rear light guards for freelander 1.

Rears just screw on, defiantly diy. Fronts are a bit more difficult but there is a how to on here. A garage will prob get the positioning wrong unless they have the fitting instructions. As they need to be drilled it is a one shot kinda thing.

5. Does the dash/instrument panel surround & fans just pull off and clip back on (sanding em,painting em)

Buy some from a scrappy in black cuz they are a biatch to paint.

6. Cost of fixing sunroof. As it won't shut. Motor just makes a clicking noise so I have to manually pull it shut. So not using it right now just keeping it closed.

Common problem do a search on this site.

As above

eBay have plasma I think. Or you could try ones from a rover 200/400

9. The clock on dash doesn't work, the backlit thing is on but no numbers. Cost of fix? And can I replace the green back light to white?

Repair service on eBay

10. Cost of a garage fitting a front nudge bumper with the fogs on em. Seen them kicking around online.

Depends but gonna be a couple or three hours labour charge.

11. Seen plenty of replacement land rover badges for exterior so they're black. But can't seem to find a black "freelander" badge for the rear. Any one know if they exist?

Not that I have seen, I used carbon fibre stickie over the top of it.

Thankyou for the info on the white/plasma dials. Will be ordering that tomorrow :)

Does anyone know if those clip on front light guards any good? As I won't be off roading but won't buy em if there utter babba. If not I'll get the proper ones, just only seen the bolt on ones for £100. Bit steep

11. Black Badges.

They exist for the front grill and back door handle - I have them myself (ebay) but I have never seen them in black for the smaller ones on the "b" pillars. Sure that they are available somewhere, as with lots of things, you just need to search.

Are we looking a little friendlier now?:)

The black ovals are off the supercharged range rover !

if you decide to put your front light protectors on your self . then do the holes in the bumper first .then mark up the holes in the wing .on mine somebody did not do it that way and they are just about hanging in .
