Sounds like a good deal to me. Do the usual checks but if he's been nice enough to give it a bit of a run once a week and it hasn't let him down then it sounds like a good way to look after the car. There are some reliable P38s, I class mine as one and, of course, there are thousands of happy owners who've never even heard of Landy Zone.

Every morning, on my commute into work, I see three P38s being used as everyday transport by normal, fairly sane looking people and I wonder if I actually know too much about what can go wrong with these cars. After all, in the years I've had mine, I've only had one true break down and that was a split heater hose. O.K. my gearbox failed but that was within a couple of thousand miles of me giving it it's first ever oil and filter change and I wonder if I disturbed something and if the original box would have survived if I'd just continued in ignorance.

If you really want a RR p38 go for it :) look after it and you will be rewarded with total satisfaction I have owned my 95 for a good few years and it has been very reliable but since new it has had small fortune spent on it in maintenance

Just make sure you have a grand or so to spare on parts in the first year.

Love my DT but it has come close to being torched a few times. Reminds me, still got to fix that air-conditioning ...

yip dont do it man you will end up bald skint and divorced and the p38 will still try to take you for your last penny :D:D:D:D its a love hate relationship they love to hate you :p:rolleyes::D

Its a S reg, and has done 66k, my neighbour does about 1500 miles a year, and has owned for three trouble free years, It has springs fitted to it it by the 1st owner.

You'd be forever declaring it as a mod to your insurance company. If you didn't and you had a blowout or ever lost control, they could avoid a payout on the grounds of a modification that could have had a bearing on the accident leaving you to foot the bill...

You can get a bit of a dog, my engine was good but God, I had to sell my first born to eventually win! Now my P38 is lovely! May need to sell her soon as maybe buying a house.

You can always put the airsprings back, not expensive. Use the fact that it's on coils to haggle on the price.:)
