No idea, but well done fer buying a Landy. Now, how much fer a nine bar? ;)

It's a 3 door, 63,000 P reg (October 1996) Disco converted to single point lpg with the tanks under the car. 3 previous owners with an MOT till September. Don't know much more about it yet, I will probably see it at the end of the week.

I have just sold my Freelander, and I know it is a bad example of a Land Rover but I also think I should have learnt my lesson. But at the end of the day all makes and models of cars have their problems, the good thing about getting another one is that I live along the road from a Landy electrician and 5 miles from Keith Gott in Alton - who seem honest and helpful previously.

Oh, and I nearly forgot... Is a single point not as good just because it doesn't have the V8 power any more or are there other reasons?

Realistically I'll be using it on the road, but I may venture into the mud in the future - I had one day of it recently and I'd like to do it some more.

Hiya Keiron, re the lpg thing, there are lots of people on the LR forums that seem to have more than their fair share of trouble with V8s and LPG.

I have diesels so I can't talk from personal experience but I get the impression that the electrics have to be tip-top for it to work well. Diesels (yes I know, I'm biased:eek: ) seem to be a little more tolerent of being off-tune. Also diesels don't get affected by wet - whether it's rain or wading.

Single point or multi-point? From all that I have read, single point is the cheaper/older style of lpg system, it appears to be less efficient therefore you lose power and it uses more fuel.

For me the issue would be "do I really want a V8", or is it just cheap and local? If I did, want a V8 that is, I think I would buy a std V8 and have it converted by a really good firm; so that I wuld have confidence in it. Yes, it will cost, but if you're worried about cost, buy a diesel - V8s, eight fancy spark plugs, eight leads, distributors - oh no thanks. ;)

Good point on saying 'is it local...'. I am just looking for a 4x4 to drive onroad, may be off road later. This one came up and I like the idea of lpg - and that's all. Thanks for the advice, I think for now I might get something else instead.
