Thinking of buying a Discovery 3 TDV6

Hi Guys,

I'm new here and a definite landrover newbie. I have never owned a Landrover but always admired from afar!

I have decided to take the plunge at last and look seriously at buying a Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6. The purpose of this thread is advice really, what should I be looking for when deciding on what to purchase, what are the pitfalls (if any) of the Discovery and I'm a bit baffled on all the optional extras.

I have a fairly healthly budget so ideally i would like to pick up a Discovery a couple of years old, the wife's only stipulation is that it must be black. That I can manage to get right but i could do with some assistance on the important parts.

Any assistance would be most appreciated and I'm looking forward to chatting with you experienced folk!

i always wanted a black car and now ive got one..i fookin hate it,shows every mark car park scratch and dint,and when you wash it you gotta wash,then shammy it,then wax it if ya dont it looks ****e..

i will certainly never have a black car again..

I saw recently the 3.0 litre V6 does 30.4 MPG!... WOW I want one too... only need 35k to buy a new one... what's in the bank? ... DOH... next week, maybe!

Pretty sure land rover owner international did a second hand buy one in last months magazine,shown what to look for and check. I agree bout not having a black en tho.
