I have seen them at the hardware shop along The road so I might just try that and see if it’s leaking from anywhere else also . Cool advice.. thanks..
also I’m just going do that for the hell of it!!
And shout at her and tell the buckets on fire and see her reaction!!

Do they not stink???

lol, they smell but soon clears , there designed to smell when u use them on chimneys , so as u inspect a chimney of different floors u can also smell it

Pozi drive or flat head ??????
If you going to give advice make sure you are clear with your instructions mr!!!!
Anyhoo I use a spoon to clean my lugs oot

or use a long nail or screw in the end

left handed posi drives work best

was on my D3 , had to cut a few plastic bits of the back of the trim and seal a hole on the windscreen pillar

haven’t heard one person yet that’s req any welding on the chassis

some nuts and bolts can be a right sod to get off

And that’s form the factory? A hole in the pillar...
I think most are these days are buggers to work on as a lot seem to be aluminium parts and the steel bolts corrode in ...
Do the posh discos need special sockets and torx heady things are can you fix it all with an adjustable spanner like my D1

yes it was from land rover , was on the A pillar windscreen trim , it’s where one of the plastic fixings went into the body , that was cut off and sealed and trim put back on as usual

nothing more than any other landy needs ie, torx etc , might need a short scaffold pole to undo the wishbones bolts as there done up over 300nm , but can’t see nuts and bolts being any looser than a D1 -D2

difference is , a diagnostic reader is a must with these D3s

not forgetting the complicated EPB, lol

just open the doors to let the water out ;):D

That’s a bad design!
But really Handy to know actually!!
Thanks for that! One day I may just have to do that on my own D3. Saying that. They will be old rust buckets by the time I get one!!
And seriously I’m having to go outside and mop the car.. I left the hose pipe on the scuttle pannel and it’s been in for 30 mins:confused:

bodies don’t rust , lol

here’s what my panels looked like when i replaced some of my curtain airbags

Wow!!! Did a bomb go off ??? It looks brand new I must say!!
You’ve got more determination than me
Interior trim is my biggest Nightmare! Give me a rusty rounded off bolt any day!!!
Did it all go back nice and neat or was there a few broken clips?
Or us that just me

all the panels are solid ,had to take quite abit out , inc the headliner , used gloves for that and kept changing them so i didn’t get any marks on the liner , took my time and can see by the pics everything went back ok , had to replace some of the little clips, mainly because some were missing, main thing was patients and working out how some of the panels came apart

think u will find this video interesting , is a bit comical , but does show u what has to be done it’s my next job ref the rear wishbone replacement , will start when the weather warms up abit

main issue is getting the old bolts out , will need 4 x wheel alignment done after

That video!! Haha
The poor bugger and you have all that to come too! I feel heartily sorry for you MrG.
We have all been there in the past though. Thats when the bigger hammers come out and if that fails oxy acetylene!!
He seemed rather skilled and knowledgable in some aspects, as I’ve actually learned a few things from him.. especially the brake hose blanking mod! I’ve never thought about blanking the end off before! And always have that dribble. One bit of advice i could have gave him is on the reciprocating saw.. slow is good! The blades do not like going high speed on anything other than butter!
Keep them half speed on the trigger with the odd squirt of oil as a cutting fluid and they will cut like brand new all day long even on the hardest of materials!
Have you put That video up on anywhere else? It’s comical but informative and would help a lot of people out! So thanks for that! As not only did it have me buckled in laughter with his mishaps and dry sense of humour!
I’ve also learned never to offer to do that job for anyone and maybe one day when I own one myself, take the week off work before attempting it!!!
Wonder how much that would cost at a LR dealer? As they would have the same issues!
Impressed also on your interior , looks like it has never been touched and I’ve also learned a valuable tip from you!! Keep changing your gloves to protect the head linings! Not that I would ever have the patience to tackle a job like what you did, but it’s handy information to give someone else!
Oh and the dancing disco at the start., that’s what mine actually drives along the road like!!!

also thought the start was funny , shame there wasn’t just that short clip of the dancing disco, or a way of doing it with a computer , lol

remember using recip saws when i useto cut up large steel cold water tanks , then pushing them off a 4 story building , took longer digging the sections out of the grass, lol

one main thing with this job is having some exceptional LZ forum mates who will help me with the wishbones , because of my back i wouldn’t stand a chance trying to get the bolts undone

that’s the great thing with this forum, is like a family , helping each other out along with making some fantastic mates

apologises if you’ve seen it before , pic of what i have in my back , but still push my luck with it

indeed took me a good while with the interior , am very patient , if something winds me up i just walk away and have a cuppa or take the dogs for a walk

might be certifiable as i really enjoy working on it , feel proud in one sense considering the state it was in the beginning , never had a disco before , but good to learn new things and how to get round problems

like all of us we like the work to be done just so, even putting cable ties the same way round

looking forward when it’s all done for some greenlaning days
