THERES A HOLE IN MY BUCKET!!!

Screen seal or if you look down the back of the passenger side inner wing theres a huge bunch of cables that pass through the bulkhead which should be sealed by a huge grommet, mine wasnt and leaked like a sieve, I think I fixed that with silicone.
The screen I fixed with some of that creeping crack sealant:D seriously its a real thing!

It has to be note that the bull bar didn't help a lot. May have been less damage without it.

tell u what ur not wrong , when i had a series many moons ago i fitted a bull bar and slid into a wall on ice , the bull bar caused even more damage as it bent back into the body , convinced it would have done less damage if it hadnt been fitted

but didn’t fancy after repairing it all trying it again , lol

did have to replace the front dumb irons but always assumed that’s what they were designed for in an impact to fold

never fitted a steel bull bar again

Don't have a clue, there maybe a chance of snagging, but don't use car washes and don't have a bull bar.

in the freelander manual it always said not to take a 3 door through a car wash but can with a 5 door

alas i never take care through a car wash , assume they must employ someone to sweep up all the door mirrors, aerials etc ;):D

The bull bar is there only to hold my big spot lights on and to give Wor Lass a reference piont of where the front of the disco is..
Plus I’ve never been through a car wash .. they fekin terify me.. just a phobia thing...

have u tried whilst sitting inside ur disco with someone using a hose pipe and watching for any leaks

must admit i wouldn’t mind one of the A bars on the front of my disco

however they are silly money , think around £500

2nd pic , seen things like this being done which i think doesnt look half bad

3rd pic, don’t know how much it would effect the cooling , as behind that is the ducted air cooling inlet for the rads

4th pic , this is my landy and have a different grill fitted

You are a legend!! .. just put a hose pipe on and it’s ****ing in, one problem I didn’t think of.. it’s pitch black and can’t see where it’s coming in. Now me footwell is flooded lol

I can feel wetness around wires at bulkhead so between you and Mr G you have saved the day..
Need to get more sealant now .. as I cut the tube 5 hours ago and never put the nozzle on an forgot about it. It’s solid now..
appreciate all advice lads ..

wish I had a posh disco .. bet you they don’t have ice on the inside in the morning

indeed no water coming in, however it did when i first bought it, was a small land rover adaption on the windscreen trim that i modified and no ice inside

it has taken me nearly 20 x years to get this D3 and basically paid peanuts for it, alas if i wasn’t able to do the spannering myself there would be no way i could afford garage fees

seeing land rover dealer want £120 plus vat per hour :eek:

is my favourite landy so far, just so nice being able to get into a dry and quiet landy for a change and had some right old flintstone landies over the years

recently bought a new pair of rear upper wishbones , inc all new bolts , that was being sold on another forum for half price , so that was a result

think there will be a lot of difference in the ride when all done

still got to buy the 6 x rear brake pipes, hoses , will all be genuine as well

there is another way that i once done , have u heard of chimney smoke pellets , make sure u don’t get the coloured ones as they can leave a fine dust , want the plain white ones, light one, put inside a tin can, then place inside the landy , can cut them in half at first before using a full one of in x 4 , so u have more pellets to find the leaks

with the bonnet lifted if there’s any leaks throughout the body u will see the smoke come out of it , use a marker if it’s coming through the bulkhead and just put a circle where it’s coming through

useto use these at work and will also show u places where seals have failed , with drafts etc

done it on my old freelander on the back door as it kept leaking , was the door seal itself

What was the landrover adaption on the trim? I’m confuddled??
Is that how much LR dealers charge an hour? Jesus!! It took me an hour just to get the fekin break calliper off.. rusty rounded off bolts .. saying that.. a posh one won’t be rusty or are they??
Tell you the truth . I like what I’ve got.. we were in Morpeth on a lane this afternoon and a huge broken branch bounced off the bonnet and clattered over the roof.. left a few battle scars! But if I had saved all my pocket money up for a posh one I would be gutted if it did that.
So I will just keep repairing my bucket me thinks

I have seen them at the hardware shop along The road so I might just try that and see if it’s leaking from anywhere else also . Cool advice.. thanks..
also I’m just going do that for the hell of it!!
And shout at her and tell the buckets on fire and see her reaction!!

Do they not stink???

was on my D3 , had to cut a few plastic bits of the back of the trim and seal a hole on the windscreen pillar

haven’t heard one person yet that’s req any welding on the chassis

some nuts and bolts can be a right sod to get off
