there is a delay befor my light come on any suggestion??

the light on my 1989 g reg 90 has a delay of 2 to 5 mins (depends how cold it is) when the head lights when they are swiched on. This only happen when starting from cold or has been stoped for over 30 mins. when the light have come on they stay on with no problems. have tryed the rely in the fuse box, the swiches in the steering collem and the dim dip unit be hind the dash. not sure where to go now. can any one help???

which lights do't work, the headlights? Both, one side?

Do the side lights work, does main beam work?

Does the 'Pull To Flash' work?
Tail lights?

When you say you've tried the relay and switches, how have you tried them? Replaced them? Tested them with a multimeter?

Sounds like a sticky contact on the relay. or you have 10miles of wire in there somewhere and it takes some time for the current to pass through

He'd need 22,320,000 miles of wire for a 2min delay (approximately).

Nope - it travels at the speed of light whatever. However, the resistance of such a long length of wire would be rather high.

wonder if LR left a bit too much slack in the loom

nope that's not strictly true - it's generally between about 0.3 to 0.7 of the speed of light

that would account for the 2-5min delay then.

both thye head lights do no work. and come on at the same time. but the flash works. thank for the help

the side light and the rear light work. have replaced the componets stated.
