Just replaced my airflow sensor then got rush if blood to head and de EGR'd it then replaced the injector harness and yesterday had it remapped by the nice man from Dynachip, If anyone was thinking of doing this then dont think any more , just do it, it is a completely different car to drive, nice and smooth through all gears but then just stick your boot down a little harder and it pulls like a train in all gears fast enough to embarass many cars at the lights, it even now pulls hard in 5th if you want it to ! wish I had done it earlier.

Have seen now numerous posts here about the chipping of the TD5.
If it makes this great difference, and doesn't do any harm or anything.
I believe all your statements, but 1 question remains:

Why didn't land rover do it directly??

Regards, Koen

I have heard that Land rover will do it for you but at the same time relieve you of about 600 quid

Hi Koen, the simple answer to your question is that LR have to make their vehicles to operate in a wide range of conditions and fuels.

If the vehicle is used predominently in Western Europe the fuel situation is much more stable so the remappers can optimise the performance.

thats more or less what i was led to believe after talking to several people in the trade
and of course trawling the internet, i must add that it hasnt affected its drivability at all in any way for instance round town and tootling to the shops etc etc . I will run it for a few weeks normally and let you all know if my fuel consumption goes up or down, again everything i have been led to believe tells me that I should get a little more MPG if driven normally
