Closed for 18 months as of October 5th.

It need closing because it was not a lane, it was a mud hole.

If you want to **** about doing "Mud runs" ect go to P&P and wreck your motor there.

is it deff viking way an not some of the lanes near by.? cuz wen i did back in june it was nice an flat, but the other lanes near south witham an sproxton were an absolute state.
Cheers Matt

Is there any need for attitudes like this.

You are stereotyping a lad with a 4x4 as someone who is going to tear up the countryside. the same stereotypical view that you get from other members of the public and which you strongly fight and dis-agree with.

Thanks to people like you i have been out green laning once since i bought my Defender in July, People like you treat it as a secretive club.

You started off somewhere and i dare say leached on the knowledge of others. Council's are un-helpful and Police are un-aware of rights of ways in most area's and GLASS is out of date so.

Am i right in saying that rights of way are removed through lack of use?? Well god help us all with such reluctance in sharing lanes.

I have never met a collection of hobbyists and club members who are so un-helpful with newer and less experienced members, so much so that i dread to meat the likes of what you portray online.

I dare say that you're also the sort that fails the "attitude test" when stopped by police whilst offroad driving and incurring adm171-172's, further alienating Police against offroad drivers.

Sort your attitude man.

Rant over

I was never disputing that mate.

I just feel that the attitude of certain people is not appropriate.

Various people moan about newcomers using wrong paths and that they are lacking in etiquette, but how are they to learn this without forthcoming knowledgeable peers.

I feel that your cloak and dagger attitude is what drives people to take wrong roads, do the wrong thing and ultimately get offroaders a bad name.

Combine this with the foul attitudes that some present themselves with and there is no wonder offroaders are frowned upon

ffs lighten up, im sure if you took the time to get to know people you'd end up wiser than u are now...cloak n dagger? expectin this expectin that will get ya nowhere

David, I think you're wrong.

There's good reasons why folk don't simply pass on details of green lanes, where to go and what to do. I don't because most of the local lanes I know are pretty good, not too badly abused and I want them to stay that way. What happens if we just keep posting details of every lane we know? Lots and lots of people drive them and they DO get ruined, I've seen it happen! Look at the lanes given out monthly by LRO ..one in the Dales went from being a nice, easy drive (you could almost take a Nissan Micra up it) with wonderful views, to being a bog that a monster Defender on 37" tyres wouldn't get through easily let alone a stock Defender/Disco/Freelander ... or any lesser vehicles .. ;)

We also put a lot of effort in to make sure the lanes are legal to drive and safe (ish). You, of all people, should know that many people will take the info and use it without checking again. EVERY time I go out I check, AS A MINIMUM, on the local gov website that the lanes I'm using aren't currently TRO'd .. do you think if we gave locations out that everyone else will do so too? If a lane's blocked I'll move the blockage, but if there's a TRO notice I'll not drive it .. do you think a newcomer will even know what a TRO notice is and what they should do when they see one? It's about education and that doesn't mean just handing out laning locations willy-nilly to anyone that asks, no matter how plausible they seem.

I and most people on LZ will gladly and happily welcome newcomers and take them out when we go laning because we then have some, albeit minor, control over them. I wouldn't have let you, or anyone else I've taken out on a run, drive, for instance, off the tracks that run alongside field edges . or if you did your details would have been passed on to Landowner and/or police ... could you say the same of any newcomer who posts on here asking for green lane locations?

If you want to pass locations on feel free, but I won't and I wouldn't recomend anyone else to either ...
