My car was parked outside work down a narrow road with two wheels on a curb where its normally parked. it was there all day from about 8. but when my dad walked past it at about 530, 4 of my indicators were on?

All of them down the off side (drivers), and then just the repeater on the near side (passenger).

And they weren't blinking either they were just permanently on.

It was strange, when i got in my car the battery seemed drained, it started but only just~!

So i left it running while i locked the shop an then all has been fine last night an this morning, but it was just weired?

Has anyone seen this before? could it have been the alarm triggered?

Any help would be great.

Cheers

I get this issue most nights.......haven't had a good nights sleep since I bought my P38 6 weeks ago.....from reading other threads, the BECM appears to be the issue, ( condensation). It is either the Indicators just come on, the interior lights come on, or the alarm goes off.......either way it is draining the battery......I bought one of those Crystal dehumidifiers and put it in the drivers door pocket by the fuse box, to see if that would help, and for about 2 weeks it appeared to have done the trick. however it has happened again for the last two nights draining the battery again.......so as the weather has been a bit milder and wetter in the midlands, i think it was just luck and the damp weather is effecting it.

If I find a solution, I will let you know.....

Hello i've had this problem too on my 96 p38 v8 petrol, but its only happened twice ...,(that i know of ) .. All repeters stay on on mine , and it only seems to happen when its been raining, however its never, drained the battery, ( mind you it only 8 months old and a monsta at that .) so i myself would say down to damp conditions , poss due to the fact most rr have leather intera, so no place for the moisture to go, ??????? but not 100% just a wild guess, this is an interesting one and would love to find out why it dose happen , so no closure sorry, but your not alone !!!!!! Rob

obviously your kerb alarm works too!:welcome2:

Thanks. so which do we think it is? curb alarm? if so what actually is that? just an alarm for numptys who dont realise there leaning? or is it moisture which i personally think it could be. I have noticed that there is a hell of a lot of condensation on the inside windscreen. I was thinking of getting one of those gel dehumidifiers with the little beads in might have to get one see if it helps.

It has only happened that once, so hopefully (touch wood) that will be the last.

I havent done a winter with my 38 yet so i would have thought this is when the bugs come.

if you have acces to one of the large dehumidifiers, stick that in for a few hours, get it nice and dry then chuck a non electric one in should help you out.

trouble is you wont know it works until it happens again. which it might never do either way!!

if you dont do something it could fry becm!!!

you haven't ****ed yourself on the seat have you or let and old person/baby drive it??

might be worth taking seat out and looking for anythin obvious

If you have a lot condensation on the inside of the windscreen, then I would bet that you have water coming in somewhere, either from the heater "O" rings, or door seals, windscreen etc. Check for wet carpets or water under the carpets or in the boot. If the carpets are wet, you are going to get all sorts of electrical problems:eek:

Well i had the o rings done a little while ago. the bloke said it was very wet in there an i was lucky it didnt fry anything. i dont think water is coming in. i will have a look tho. Cheers for the help.
