bury lancs
i have been out today around derbyshire and some trail bikes past us about 10 of them doing 50 plus mph i was the lead vehicle one went past flicked a stone up and cracked my windscreen they go way to fast

They have only the same byways to ride as us, don't moan too hard at them .. TRF do a lot of good trying to keep lanes open. I seriously doubt they were doing 50, it may have seemed like it, thobut!

Don't 'divide and conquer' motorised vehicles, the bobbles would just love that ...

I firmly believe those dicks on two wheels will be the demise of ALL green laning.

They, and other green lane users, probably think the same of 4x4's ...

Most likely I agree, but the damage the back tyre does to green lanes when irresponsible bikers pour on the power is not acceptable. If you get half a dozen doing the same silly full power accelerating trick at the same time it leaves the green lane looking like a ploughed field.

TRF do do a lot of good .. I assume you're coughing 'cos I disagreed with a recommendation of theirs once, for which I'd already posted my reasoning?

I'm fed up being the feckin' do-gooder, but trying to divide users really will spell the death knell of all lanes, not just the Peaks. We ought to get together more and join forces, rather than spout tit-for-tat anecdotal bull****. I've been a member of TRF and of Glass and other groups, I'm not now mainly because a lot of them believe that they are the only 'true' users of lanes, it's almost religious. I believe we can all use them, we just need to tolerate the differences and make allowances.

In my opinion ... ;)

With that I completely agree

It can be the other way round aswel. ive been out on my bike down some lanes and seen some people in 4x4's really rutting everything up on purpose just to get there cars dirty so it looked like they did something that day. ive personally seen more damage from four wheeled vehicles. but i have seen guys on bikes acting like tits and tearing it up aswel. Anyway the point im trying to make is it SOME people in/on any vehicle. not just bikes and every rider

It works both ways I've seen landies ruin lanes to and when there's a few off them land rovers really ruin lanes when being stupid but as some others said th trf do some tremendous work
I think its a bit of both and we should jusyt get on when we can

Well put, I would agree there are people who show no respect to other users whatever they choose to ride or drive on the lanes.

That sir is a very good opinion.

It doesn't matter if its two wheels or four. The minorities who don't treat lanes with respect give a bad name to the rest of us.

I totally agree!!

Never seeen bikes out whilst iv been laning. Suppose it dont take much for a veiw to be formed but im currently indifferent to em.

There is no way a motorcycle can cause as much damage as a 4X4. I rides bikes and drive a 4x4.

same here, ive got my disco and ride bikes alot, admittedly mainly only use the bikes on trackdays and abit of road riding, but most winters i get a offroad bike to have a play on during the worse weather, and when ive been out the damage ive seen is mainly from 4x4's, you get idiots on/in both types, but i think a idiot in a 4x4 is alot more damging than a idiot on a bike.

ive got my disco to keep me company this winter though and looking to get out with some of you guys next time theres space on a green lane trip around east yorkshire/humberside
