i ordered a service kit for my p38 the only things that fitted were the spark plugs and oil filter. the air filter is to big for the airbox the p38 4.6 doesnt have a fuel filter and the pollen filters were to small. all ****part packaging

Yeah, but there's fettling and major body reconstruction. I had to cut some decent bits of inner wing off to make it fit.
Question is. Should you be making and selling bits thinking the customer will just fettle these to make them fit?

That was my first plan, when I noticed the first fault in them. Actually that was only on one side. Called my local LR specialist where I bought them to do just that. He said he could return it, but a replacement could well be the same and cutting a piece off that shoulder would be less hassle. The fettling argument I suppose. Si that's what I did. I didn't notice the discrepancy in the door seam dimension until it was too late.

i think my biggest battle was a unipart wing for a nova

Never again will I purchase anything made by ****part.

I got a couple of new mirror arms (part of the heated / larger mirror project). Suffice to say, the thread simply strips out when you apply any form of tightening to prevent the mirror bounding about whilst driving - even a coating of Loc-tite had no effect!

Waste of £10.

Got to now re-wire the thing when I can get some decent mirror arms - not bothered with 2nd one as I will end up throwing across the kitchen!

I have just put my old mirror arms back on my 90, as the new, last October arms lost all the paint and are now furry and white. They would also never tighten up properly on the spring. The old arms are in good condition and appear to be original 96I only changed them as the mirrors were tatty.

It has probably saved you hassle in the long term, that's they broke so soon.

I bought some Drop Links for my freelander which were Britpart, I was new to landrovers at the time and didn't realise the error of my ways........

Lasted about 6 months before they started knocking again..... Total ****e as far as I'm concerned

After reading all the comments I cant understand why the poll says that most people think there good value for money

I needed some tail gate straps for my 110, usually I try to get OEM parts or genuine off eBay etc, but today I was passing Marshalls Land Rover in Cambridge so I popped in to buy some......oh dear, firstly they did not have any in stock and if I did so wish to purchase them they would be £27 each plus 20% rip off tax, so I phoned a local independent Landy place who had some for £17 the pair. When I arrived to collect them I was offered two BLUE bags with what looked like the same straps so I bought them and will give them a go, since Land Rover has gone all "inspirational" with it's branding their parts prices have gone nuts and conversely Brit-part seem to be getting cheaper and worse quality. Bearmach to be fair seem a little better but maybe that's just an illusion as in all probability the parts come from the same Chinese factory and assembled by the same Chinese children? Oh well, might as well go order another set of straps off eBay for when in two weeks time these new ones snap.

I ordered some britpart shock absorbers for my RRC.

Not that my RRC has been on the road but the shock absorbers have a coating of rust over them already. And its just been sat there on the driveway.

Doesn't affect functionality - yet. Slightly disappointing about them rusting though. Guess I'll take them off, wire brush them off, red oxide/cold galv and then black top coat.

Mind you, they were cheap!!!

I'm still rebuilding my RRC so not tested any of the parts but there does seam to be more Bearmach parts turning up over Britpart. Does anyone know if they are better quality yet?

My gearbox bits are mostly bearmach with a couple of britpart as i couldnt find anyone else who makes the parts I need. Done 200 miles on them so far and no probs yet (touch wood). Handy having 3 gearboxes for spares though if anything does happen

Ive found Britpart to be good quality (BRITISH :clap2 the Army use them!! BUT if its ****eparts you re after? just try taking a few of the fittings off a NEW car!! I did with my wifes Vauxhall Astra and then you've REALLY got something to curse at! Kind regards. Chris

It's maybe a British company, but the majority of parts they sell is are cheap foreign ****e

Here's my experience with Britpart

Side runners.
Half the price of LR ones. Fit not perfect but alright

300tdi rear door trim.
Great. Fits well and NLA from LR anyway so no option...Britpart or chequerplate. Price has gone up though, so they obviously realised it has become NLA

Gear knob.
Very good. Half the price of LR one and looks the same

Front seat base Techo Cloth TD5
Very good. Perfect match and 1/4 the price LR want for one (£60 instead of £230!!)

Floor mats.
Great. Under half the price of LR originals and the same except for having no Land Rover logo on them

So maybe Britpart are good for trim items?

No complaints with my parts *touch wood* mainly bushes

Common theme of Brit-part is that as long as the components have no moving parts, you might be ok.

People make me laugh about Britpart.. happy to pay half the price of genuine then bitch about it not lasting as long..
