You did grease them up i hope if you have nicked one all is for nought. :)

Yeah I sure did, and to be honest I was worried about it but by that time I had lost my patience and thought I have nothing to lose.. however does not leak so all is good.

But since removing the dash and the rest of it, the SRS light has come so now I have to try and work out what I have upset:(

When will this saga end? lol

What have you had out? That usually happens if you have switched the ignition on with a bag unplugged. You may need diag to reset it. Or one of the SRS bulbs has blown.

I've had all that I could out, so I could get to it.... I have tried every thing I could think of and at the moment I have found a green and black wire behind the steering wheel unplugged but I can see where it goes?? the joy lol

All bag connections are yellow. There are spurious unused connectors for different versions. Only air bag plug you could possibly have disturbed if you took out the instruments to see down to the heater pipes, is the one that plugs into the instrument cluster. Diag would tell you what the problem is. Have you checked the bulbs are ok? There are two if one is blown the other one will stay on.

I think you could be right, I plugged it in after I had the car started, I was being too impatient (or more excited) to see if the air suspension would work:doh: I did check the bulbs though they were all good.

Oh well it's getting there all I need now is to find someone that can turn it off...

I can turn it off but i am a long way from Kent. Find someone local with a diesel Nanocom. Should take all of 30 seconds.

Did you solve the overheating after replacing the stat ?

Yeah it all seems to be ok for now... touch wood, I think it may of more been the O rings from the heater matrix though, they were snapped in half. That said the Water pump had a bit of play in it and the O ring around the stat was perished to, so replaced all those and it seems to be as good as gold:D

Yeah I'm sure Ill find somewhere to take it... my mate has got a garage not to far away I'm sure he must have a fancy bit of kit than can do it.... although I may look into buying one of those
