Temperature sender unit ?

The temperature gauge on my recently converted 90 v8 efi always reads high even when cold it reads about half go's of the scale when running
Any one know how to fix this

Oh and when I tried a normal v8 3.5 one it works ok however the 3.5 sender won't fit it'd bigger with a spade terminal the one I have in the 3.9 is smaller with a bullet connect

put another crimped end on the wire

i meant fitting sender that worked ,reading wrong can be fixed with cheap resistor also

so the engine in your defender was a 3.9 disco before you converted it to a 3.9

this is what the 3.9 should have

what was the engine before you converted? I've got a 3.9 in my 110 that used to be a 19J and the temp gauge works

A 2.5 Td now it's a 3.9 efi from a 96 disco

mine is a serp disco engine too - AFAIK the clocks are the from the 19J
