Telescopic bollard

They fitted 5 of those at a tesco while I was a maintenance Technician there. With in 3 months 4 had jammed down, the road grit collects between the bollard and the tube container.
Oh and the boss of the cleaners managed to ram the replacements, the third set also jammed down. After that they fitted a lockable lifting barrier.

Conversely, we had some fitted outside the stores door where I used to work, after a spate of ram raids in the area, and they were fine. Maybe a difference in the design?

Hi guys, what's your take on having one of these installed on the drive?

I have a steering lock and was considering a clutch claw but have read thieves get around these quite easily. I figure that the bollard will prevent pulling it off the drive.

Any thoughts?
I'm sure any future buyer of your house will be well impressed that you think you had to go to such extremes to stop having your car nicked.

You are dead right, also a little worried about the fact my new drive will have to be dug up. decided to scrap the bollard idea and am going for the adrenalin pedal lock and a removable steering wheel

Yer can buy bollards which lock to the ground, which only sink in 10 inches. Unlock and pull them out to release. Most of the bollard stays above ground so this reduces problems of muck stopping them going down the hole as yer can easily reach the bottom, and yer pull the bollard out rather than let it fall to ground height.
