I'd like to hear some thoughts on this engine. If someone has one, or has driven one. I'd like to hear from someones personal experience if possible...

The TDV8 was developed by Peugeot for their 107 and Partner van range, but was found to be under-powered - naturally when Land Rover heard about this they thought it would be perfect in the Range Rover...

A V8 in a Peugeot Partner or 107? Someone is pulling your ****er.:rolleyes::rolleyes: Even the big Boxer van manages with the 2 litre 4cyl lump or lately a 2.5ltr. Maybe it was for the 607 but Peugeot are good at diesels so it's unlikely that it was an aborted project

well i think its a great engine. had a rr sport for a few weeks and it performed without fault and i found it a very powerful engine.

thinking about putting this lump into a classic lse. as long as i can get the autobox to marry up.

Fantastic engine, i had a TDV8 sport for a weekend on demo, pulls like a train, 27 mpg giving it a little right foot, i never drove it hard, me and the missus went to the coast on the Sunday and i was not feeling great on the way home so drove like me granny and got 31.7 mpg, no not dreaming, took it back to Marshalls of Cambridge showing 30.4 mpg on the display
