Hi guys,
I've been reading up on here and a few people suggest removing the solenoid from the top of the injectors.
However, I thought that the spring tension under the solenoid was set so not something you can really just take off and put back on.
Can anyone confirm please (before I give myself even more work)?

For context, I have just replaced the rocker cover which had spit and am now trying to get the injectors back in. However, no space due to the inner wing being in the way. So either I try and jack the engine up a bit or split the injector down.

Any help / advice much appreciated.

Olly

That's true but I had the advantage of being able to bend and crack the old manifold in order to make some extra space ;-)
The job's been hard enough. Don't want to risk another crack and having to do it again anytime soon!

What's in the way, bodywork or something else?

Reason I ask is the sport (L320) has the abs modulator on the O/S which hampers one injector removal,
but contrary to early (L322) the abs modular was move from N/S to O/S,

I'm hazarding a guess you have the abs in the way of things,
failing that undo an engine mount and jack it up and over, it's only one nut surely.

Hey, thanks for your reply.
Yes it was the bodywork that's in the way. I moved the ABS module out the way already when taking it apart.
In the end, I jacked up the engine a little on that side so it just tilted the angle of it slightly.

For anyone else reading this in the future, I never managed to get a definitive answer as to whether the injector solenoid can simply be removed and refitted.
About 50% of people I spoke to said yes and about 50% said no, hence I didn't risk it.

Thanks again for your help.
