dint yu ask this yesterday - the V8 uses an LT77S gearbox - the Disco uses an LT77 gearbox - so I dont think there shud be a problem. Others that have tried mite know different.

Can anyone tell me if a TDi engine from a Defender 90 will fit a discovery 1 V8, i would think the engine mountings are different...anything else ????
I know the wiring, hoses exhaust etc will be different. Will it fit a V8 gearbox ???
Wos wiv the big writing? are you using crayons or do you think we're all blind?
If it's the same as switching 300tdi engines between defenders and discos you will have to swap the bell housings over.
Ah well u see Ratty, i am new to this computer stuff , i only just worked out how to change from Capital letters to small letters........I spoke to someone today who has got a 90 TDi who said i can have the engine...I just got to do a few favours for him.....Not Sexual Dummy....I was not sure if it would fit at all. I would think the engine mounts are different. I have had 2 different storys as to weather the bell housing is the same or not.....No one seems to be 100% sure????

Ere Ratty - int that because the disco 300 uses the R380 box and the Deepender uses the LT77?

nah. the deepender does use a R380 but the gear selectors on the top are different.

which bit of nuffing are you fanking me for? For the bit that lists the differences between gearboxes and transfer boxes or the nuffing about the different bell housings?

right.......The exhaust manifold and turbo are in a different place on the 2 different variants. You can get a replacement downpipe for this from steve parker engineering or ebay. Happy now?

everything I have seen is about putting a disco engine into a defender cos disco engines are cheaper.
