TDCI loom wires Help

Hi

Any one clued up on the wiring on a new tdci defender

i have partially rewired it for a 4.2td

im NOT using any ecus they have been removed and never coming back!

So im left with the glow plug wire and the 2 big plugs on bulkhead

can any one confirm where the wires are and what colours they are

Alternator Dash Light

Rev Counter

Oil Pressure

Water Temperature


any help much appreciated

toyota engine as replacement ?

Will be interested to see how you get the gauges up and running. I'm not aware of anyone getting the Tdci setup (which came from the Disco 3) working on older engines, as they are CANBUS-driven you can't just re-wire them like you could with Td5 gauges for example - they need an ECU to interpret the sender signal and tell them what to read. Without the ECUs I'm not sure the Tdci gauges will work at all, but I'm hopeful I can be proven wrong.

Good project though! Might want to have a look at the wiring diagrams in the workshop manuals.
