TD6 Injector Replacement

Evening all,

Had the motor looked over at the weekend and was informed that cylinder 3 is out of limits and the injector needs replacing.

I can't see anything about it in Rave, has anyone done this before and is it pretty simple? I think the original injectors are Bosch so shouldn't be hard to source a new one!

had the garage checked the injector cabling ?

as it could just be a faulty conductor, this is a common issue it seems.


some can be a pain in the ass to remove it they are seized up etc...

think the bmw 320d injectors also fit these engines...

I don't think so, however he said he'd checked all cylinders and no 3 was fluctuating high out of limits.

It was a LR specialist so I'm assuming he knows what he's talking about! Do new injectors need encoding or can they go straight in?

You would think they'd know, shocking how some garages don't though !!

A recon injector is about £120 exchange they are dead easy to change if they come out that is ,only trouble is to remove any of them apart from number one you really need the inlet manifold removed ,a cheaper option is second hand ones ,I used 2 from a 325 d for about £40 each off ebay.
