had a quote to change an injector but was thinking of trying it myself has anyone an opinion wether its a pretty easy job or if its simpler to just shell out and let someone with the right gear and alot of experience do it, opinions welcome

Not a difficult job - as long as the injector washer has done its job and the injector isnt sealed into the head with carbon......
If it has you will need a slide hammer with the right fitting to pull out the old injector. They dont need coding, just make sure you replace the right one/s.;)

Only number 1 injector will come out without removing the inlet manifold. Manifold removal is not difficult just time consuming. However getting the injectors out is a different matter. If there has been some blow through past the bottom sealing washer the injector will be baked in and very difficult to extract. If you can find an old injector you can drill and tap out the head M6 and using a slide hammer extract the assembly. There is no way you can lever the thing out so if you havent got the gear best leave it to the experts. Cheers Ian

cheers the consensus at work with lads who done them on other cars is its far easier to let somone else have a go ,normally do everything myself but will probably bottle this one ,cheers.
