Not at all :) Much appreciated as won't get home for hours, phone is crap for this type of thing. If I go quiet it's because battery is low and this train has no charging sockets!
 
Home safe and sound. Going for a sleep as set off at 0300 this morning and am now in need of lots of zzzzzzzs. Thanks again, will have a better look tomorrow.

Course it is. Never take a Range Rover more than 200 miles from home! I should know that by now.
Now going to look at that link from myfirst and scare myself silly, guessing what it might be. I know Gibsons are always fully booked so could be days before I get an answer.
 
Couple of clues in your other post,

1/4 tank of fuel
and...
CC not disengaging

Low fuel and cutting out points to the in tank pump which transfers fuel from the dead side of the saddle tank.

CC not disconnecting? I'll leave that for the likes of @Saint.V8 or @holidaychicken .

More than likely both issues are connected, given they occurred simultaneously.
 
I had a quick thought run through my head on the amount of fuel when it happened but dismissed it quickly , as it was over a 1/4 of a tank. I know they're a bit temperamental but with more than 6 gallons / over 150miles range (approx) in the tank, fuel shortage is unlikely. Especially as she has never had an issue when much lower than that.
The cruise control not disengaging , well that's waaaayyy above my pay grade. So will wait to see what the gurus think.

CC not disengaging - now that is a scarey thought.....ther eare loads of issues with CC not engaging but the system should failsafe to disengage at any hint of an issue.

CC disengage is triggered by the brake switch, the button on the steering wheel, speed falling below a set threshold (i.e. a steep hill and the CC can't figure out how to compenstate), moving the gear lever to N, data interupt on the data bus, or ECU failure of some description.

I would be inclined to consider ECU failure - although this is uber rare - considering the reduced power and Fuel Injection Fault message - it figures.

If it was a V8, I would be looking at the electronic throttle body module and engine ECU - considering the diesel doesn't have a throttle body, I would be interrogating the engine ECU thoroughly.

Ant, I tried,the button, the brake and even the accelerator to disengage , with no joy. Hence the 'not seeing' which red lights came on, as I headed to the hard shoulder to try to stop safely. Thankfully, the engine cut out, which obviously allowed me to stop.
The fuel injection system warning , came up almost simultaneous with the failure of CC to disengage. As in, I went to disengage by pressing button, no joy and as I pressed again message pinged up.
Although looking around me, as I sat on the bank, I reckon I was luckier than some at that stretch of road. There were several parts of a Scania laying around, which was handy as used one bit as a seat instead of damp grass, and the barrier was twisted for a fair distance.

Hell! I hope so too.Truth be told everything happened so quickly. The green Speedo light did stay on, but under 30 seconds later(probably even less but hard to tell, as was otherwise occupied and the human brain isn't good at measuring time in these circumstances) I was at the side of the road, with the engine stalled, turning the key to the off position. When I tried to restart I didn't overdo it, as didn't want to damage anything further.

Did you try turning off the key to stop the engine or instinct kicked in and just tried to stop it with the brakes which I think I would have done the same?

I think if the green light stayed on then it is a cruise control issue which is scary enough, see what your garage comes back with

I'll have to get a 322, they have everything!, a Speedo warning light, I wonder if it would detect my thong? Surely it should be red not green.:eek: Hope it's an easy fix Goldie.​

I was in the outside lane of a 3 lane m/ way, so not for switching her off by key , until I got into the hard shoulder. By the time I got to the hard shoulder she had stalled, so brakes were all that were needed :)
She is being dropped off to the boys at Gibsons this afternoon, apparently. So all I can do is torture myself with 'what it might be ' and reading horror stories :( It would be nice if it's not too major , as I only went abroad to do a nice thing .
Up side is at least I was almost home, had I not changed my plans, just before leaving home, I would have been down London way! As I had been intending continuing south after delivering pooch. Now deciding should I cancel all appointments for this week and have the week to myself, or get a rental and be a grown up
