td6 engine with diesel in it

Has Anyone Had A Problem With A 03 Td6 Range Rover Engine Filling With Diesel.mechanic Thinks It Is An Injector Problem But Not Convinced This Is The Primary Problem.anybody Got Any Ideas

Hi, this is quite common on td5 engines, but not so on the td6, but yeah, your mechanic is probably right, it needs a set off injectors and seals doing. Hopefully it cures it, but if anything like the td5, it could be a cracked or pourus head which is bed news.

If the sump oil is filling with diesel then its more likely the seal in the front of the high pressure pump.If it was injectors dribbling or hosing you would have other problems like poor starting or knocking whilst running,black smoke etc.

Basically the engine would not start no earlier symptons.
Mechanic took 20 litres of mix fuel and oil from sump.refilled with oil and got engine running ,showed signs of fuel again in oil but not as much.drained again and refilled with oil.This time would not start after 2 attempts at turning the engine of approx 3 secs each . dipped oil and it would appear to be full of fuel again.
thats the stage we are at.hope this is useful

From that it sounds even more like the front seal gone in the high pressure pump.
