Can anyone help please, our TD5 Disco smokes a lot on start up, this only happens on either a very cold or a cold damp morning, it clears after about 2 miles and way before the engine warms up.
Thanks

The smoke is grey colour, the colder and damper the morning the worse it is.

Sounds like unburnt fuel. Are your glo-plugs working? Diesels without glo-plugs generally produce bluish-white smoke until the engine's warmed up. It smells stronly of diesel! Alternatively are you sure it's not just condensation in the exhaust?

There's been alot of questions about this over the last couple of weeks. Mine has the same symptoms runs fine after the engines warmed up. Take a while for the 5th cylinder to start firing on mine, need to change the glow plugs should sort it.

thanks for the replies, will change the glow plugs, isuppose thats the cheapest and easiest option.
