Hi all im new

Ran my Disco 3 2.7 TDV6 for over a year now, brilliant car

Been fine when all of sudden started this morning rough as a dog major missfire and didnt want to stay running, after a bit of tinkering, iv discovered once there is some temperature in it, runs sweet as a nut, but while cold its running rough, coughs mild white smoke and to begin with just wants to die, again as ot warms up it improves. This has happened all of a sudden, possibly related last winter she had to be wound over allt once it got realy cold but i didnt want to tackle the glowplugs then

No EML, no codes logged via obd

Thank you

First I'd be replacing the oil temperature sensor. There is a known issue caused by the oil temp sensor which gives bad running from cold, and doesn't log codes.

If that doesn't work, it really needs a diagnostic using live data to see if there are any anomalies with fuel delivery pressures.

Hi thanks for your reply, i have spmeone who has an expensive diagnostic tool but for now i have a cheap bluetooth obd statong rail pressure and cc per mm iv attached, figurrs from warm idle

Fuel rails looks ok. The data for MAF or MAP might show up something.
Also does it smoke when it splutters?

Yea little white smoke , esp when revd, completely smoke free when upto temp
It could be that there's an injector or two draining down overnight.
As suggested above, check injector balance when cold, although I don't think Torque can do that. Normally it needs more advanced diagnostic equipment to test injector balance.

Right ok il try get on it, mean time is the Oil Temp sensor still a worthwhile try ?, ordered one for tomorrow morning

When oil temp sensor plays up you tend to get an unstable idle when engine cold, bit like minor hunting.
Can be replaced without draining oil, do it when oil cold and be quick, bet you dont lose a teaspoon of oil.
Engine undertray has to come off.

I replaced mine when I had a unstable idle when cold. It was a easy job, and oil loss was minimal.

Bad to worse, now decided to throw transmission, htc and park brake fault for no reason starts up then just cuts off and dies, wth

Also the suspenion had decided to lower itself aswel, meanwhile i went out yesterdsy no fsults problems etc, not sure if battery can cause all this? Used to be able to feather throttle and keep it going to mild warm but soon as fires it dies

Driving me mad, went on a hour drive last night no faults ran mint come out this morning, pretty much every fault u could have plus wont even stay running very intermitten the worst

Few dro nothing mad footwells seem dry but did have it coming down drivers pillar not to long ago but nevr caused problems

Got to be battery or alt at fault
Whats volts after standing for a few hours?
Volt when running?
Earth straps, temp bypass with a jump lead
