Just replaced my double cab and got an '06 csw, everything was ok until the other day when it took a few attempts to start, ran ok, got my other half in to town and back then Thursday it wouldn,t start at all:( Engine turned over but no kick so thought it might be fuel problem. Replaced fuel filter and put it through the self bleed procedure and it still wouldn't start! thought there maybe an air lock not moving because of sitting on the slope of the drive so hitched it up to the jeep and pulled it up to the level. Run through bleeding procedure yet again and still nothing I've made sure the cut out switch under the bonnet was reset and I must have run through the bleeding procedure about 20-30 times but still nothing.I've run the battery down trying! plugged it up to the Jeep's battery, had it on charge all day and still won't start!!!! took cut out switch off checked tripping and reset and everything seems ok as far as that's concerned.
fuel pump seems to be running ok and I can hear the fuel being pushed through at the engine but can't get the bloody thing to start!!!!!
Any suggestions as to what to try next other than a large sledge hammer would be most appreciated.

Thanks George.

Never looked at a td5, but you sure you are getting fuel? Is your pump still working? Listen to it after you stick the ign on or pull a fuel pipe off and stick it in a jar, and turn the ign on.

Glow plugs still work? Will td5's start with them knackered? *shrug*

What's the oil in the (red?) ecu plug everyone mentions, could that stop it?

Never even thought of the glow plugs:eek:
Looked at the Ecu when I bought it and everything was fine but I'll have a nother look tomorrow and make sure. The light comes on with the ignition and goes out as normal!. It also came on and flashed as it should through the bleeding procedure if ignition to II then press accelerator 5 times.

TD5 should start without glows in this weather.
Is pump running? Is it noisy?

Sounds like its not a fuel issue.
Check the crank sensor plug on the top of the bellhousing.
Check ECU plugs are clean and check ECU earth point.
Check injector plug on front of head.
Is immobiliser light on speedo on, flashing, or off when trying to start?

Just a little update!
The guy I bought the Landy from came up today to see if we could get it sorted. All sensors crancase etc were fine no oil at ecu all ok!
Wasn't getting the correct fuel up to injectors, was a bit splutterry!!!! Put another new filter in just in case but didn't make any difference. Thought that maybe there was a possibility of a faulty fuel gauge and we had poosibly run out  Put more fuel in Nope no difference!!! No real fault codes showed up to relate to anything so he's going to collect it tomorrow and take it back to his workshop where he has all the test equipment to check injector pressures etc. Pump is running but maybe not correctly or blockage somewhere, so hopefully tomorrow we'll get it sorted!

Atb George.
