hi all. i have a td5 defender that is pulling oil through the loom to the ecu. i replaced the loom last summer but it has started again. is there anything i can do to stop it either now or on a new loom.

yes. was told that was only one that needs changing. cleaned the ecu end and alowed the oil to drain.

hang on???

aint there two looms - the small injun loom and the the ECM loom?

I aint familiar with the TD5, but I was sure there were two. Cleaning the ECM cable is particularly difficult because the oil wicks down the wire strands, and it is nigh on impossible to clean the oil out. Did you clean the ECM itself? because once oil gets in there it screws everything.

yes your correct there is the main loom and there is the injector harness.

pull the plug off the harness if there is no oil on it then the oil is just what was left over from last time. clean with silicon spray

it does have two looms. was told by landy specalist only need to change engine part and alow oil to drain fron the other part. done that and all was groovy for about a year. now pulling oil through again
