So the water pump I ordered turned up and it wasn’t the make I brought, from what I understand qcp3646 quinton hazel Is the right and good quality one and they used to supply landrover but no longer exist I can’t seem to find one from a reputable seller all seem to be out of stock

what pumps are people fitting and from where?

also genuine is last result very expensive

Any help much appreciated

I've just bought a Bearmach one. It'll be fitted next week when the head gasket is sorted. Unless the head is cracked, in which case i won't be able to reply as i won't be able to see the keyboard through my tears...

You’re better off fitting a good quality brand

I consider Bearmach to be of good quality. They've never let me down in the past unlike Britpart!
I stopped using them after having to replace the front wheel bearings on my D1 for two consecutive MOTs having done less than 3000 miles between MOTs.

Neither Bearmach or Britpart make anything themselves. ProFlow or Quinton Hazell I would recommend, anything else whoever it is supplied by is going to be a lottery.

Presumably you went for the cheapest wheel bearings from Britpart?

Whether Bearmach make their own stuff or not, they put their name to it, and i've found their stuff to be reliable. As for the wheel bearings, i don't remember where i bought them from but considering i did less than 3000 miles on each set and were installed by the mechanic i've used for over 20 years and known for about 45, he's my cousin, that was the last time i've used Britpart!
