Td5 very strange fault!

Hi guys I have a disco 2 td5, It's got a very strange fault. It used to be sluggish so I did the usual fuel pump change injector harness change etc but never really cleared the fault but definitely made it better. My car runs perfectly first thing in the morning, picks up and boosts as it should but when I turn the engine off for about 10 mins and go to drive somewhere else, it becomes sluggish and struggles to rev upto boost which appears to kick in at just over 2000rpm when this is going on. Sometimes when it's doing it I just keep driving and it will get better and it seems like it wants to go so you find its sluggish and then it just randomly surges then picks up. Anyone else had this issue?

Hi, what was that etc though?

did you try to drive it with unpluggd MAF?
do you still have EGR?

anyway the only reliable diagnose is to plug in a tester and see a live data log cos there could be many things

Thanks for your reply, Maf has been replaced for genuine with no effect and Egr removed. I have also checked wastegate is free and all inter cooler pipes have been checked. I thought I'd just test the water to see if anyone had had a similar fault, I have read many other people's problems that are similar but not quite the same as mine. I think a nanocom is going to get bought next month

Cleaned the MAP sensor?

Have changed it for new with no improvement

Turned out to be manifold pressure sensor also known as manifold temperature sensor

Turned out even the new one I had tried was faulty so I was thrown off course a bit

Thanks for the reply. I have cleaned mine going to change the injector harness if no joy will buy a new map sensor. Cheers
