Hi all,
Does anyone know where you cen get a rev counter to work with the TD5 engine without getting a genuine LR one, as they cost a mint?

I'm really looking for one that's stand alone or will fit in a standard supplimentary console such as the MUD one. And where the hell would you connect it, on the ECU?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Rev counters are usually connected to the alternator to get the engine speed. I haven't looked at my TD5 alternator to see if there is a connection for it. I'll see if I can have a look tomorrow.

Mine is connected to pin 21 on the ECU plug.
Got the tacho off fleabay and it matches the other gauges.
Not cheap though.
Ooops should have been pin #19 on the black ECU plug.

The rear connector C0658 has 3 rows of connectors: Upper, middle and lower row. The sixth switch in the middle row, labeled #19 is the signal output to use.
