I've just traded in my manual TD4 for an auto TD5 for better pulling power with our caravan on the back, but i was a little let down with the car whilst driving up a slight incline (3500 revs & 30MPH in first. would not change to second). had a read on here about performance chips so got myself a good deal for one on ebay. only problem is that i cant' wire it up.

I know it's probably not the best on the market but thought for what i paid it's worth a go. trouble is it has no instructions with it and i can't seem to find any anywhere. There are no markings on the unit itself so I'm a bit unsure of where it was made. I do know the 5 yellows have to connect to the injector wire's but could do with some help on locating these as i don't want to get it wrong. Of course I've blanked of the ERG but honestly haven't noticed any difference to the performance.
If anybody has any fitting instructions for this they could email me that would be great ([email protected]). failing that any help at all on how to fit this would be appreciated.

i've done both. it was the seller who told me about the yellow wires and the manafacture he's unsure of he thinks it was Diesel Tuning . done a bit of searching and it looks like it was made by Diesel Tuning (the unit looks like one of there older ones anyway) but there yet to respond.

sounds like a box issue not a power issue. you have to drive an auto differently, give it a bootfull and it will hang on the gear, back off and it will change up. hold it in 2 or 3 for lower speeds. it will also lock up in 3rd gear at about 45 mph, 4th + over drive at around 50-55 mph.

mines remapped and has an uprated torque converter and pulls very well.

i'm going up the same road with the van again this friday so will try first second and third gears rather that leaving it in drive see if it makes any difference, looked at the link you sent me mad hat but that tells me to connect near the ECU, it's a mate of mine who is going to fit this for me and he's a bit reluctant to start nipping at wires around that part of the car, he has however found a small round black plug under the head at the front of the engine and thinks this would be the best place to connect but is unsure if these are the right wires. does anybody know if these wires are for the injectors, i could take a photo tomorrow if it would help
