Thanks to all who helped me identify that this odd cable hanging down is from the oil pressure switch.
Can anyone offer a pointer as to where "physically this connects into the harness?

Thanks

The Black wire from the oil pressure switch connector C0187 doesn't connect to anything.

On my D2, I've removed the Black wire's terminal and wire seal from C0187-2, and replaced it with a cavity blank.

.

Thanks Both.
Looking at this then can I just remove the connector.
OR
If the black doesn't connect to anything, should there be another cable that does?
I have removed for now and no warning lights up on the dash, which concerns me a little, Am I missing something??

The oil pressure switch switches the warning light to earth via the engine block, it doesn't need the separate Black earth wire in the connector.

If you disconnect C0187 from the oil pressure switch, you'll see that the oil pressure switch has only one male tab on it, which connects to the White/Brown wire in C0187.

Ah HA. There in lies the problem my connector does not have a white brown. I guess this has been removed by the previous owner.
I am sure I can heath Robinson it.
Just need to know roughly where the C0187 connects in to the harness,
Any ideas. - I am looking g for a physical location, engine bay, footwell which side of the bulkhead. Any pointers would be a great help and save a bucket full of time.
Thanks in advance......

I would try to investigate why its been interfered with, and see if that's covering any serious issues, as some people are dicks.

Thats my worry. She sweats oil on the drive but the level hasn't dropped since I changed the oil 6 months ago. (engine seems tight) but until I can reconnect the C1087 to the harness I can't identify IF pressure is dropping.
All of the oil seems to be from gearbox - TX box etc...

Its not leaking from the back the rocker cover gasket is it, and then running down the back of the engine on to the gearbox?

I checked that one. The oil level has not dropped from the engine since I changed it 6 months ago. I had a look anyway whilst tinkering over the weekend and it seems dry. Just need to reconnect the pressure switch and see whats what, Any ideas where it connects to the harness?
