Disco 2 TD5 Oil Leak Help Please!

Hi all, currently on holiday in Wales and have a decent oil leak on the disco.

Looks like it’s coming from the metal pipe where it’s rubbed against the sump.

Any ideas for parts/fixing it/preventing it happening again would be greatly appreciated.

It’s coming from the pipe near where the label is.

Funnily enough the drive belt has recently been a bit noisy. Worth changing too as it’s no doubt contaminated?

yes ,your stuck if it fails save the old one and keep it with the car you never know
 
Hi, I don't believe this pipe has fluid under pressure so it may be possible to do a temp repair with some sort of metal repair filler/tape.
Others may also advise

Thanks folks, had the RAC out this morning who stuck a temp repair on it and just got home with all the oil still in.

Parts have been ordered and I'll change the pipe on Monday. Thanks again.
 
I have the same problem, only slight leak, but looks that the previous owner already "repaired" it. Time for me to change as well.

For the cost of the hose it's well worth changing as it's not a difficult job either.

I was lucky in the fact that I noticed that there was a large oil patch under the car and the auxiliary belt had gone noisy. I assumed the noise was down to contamination but no, it was the power steering pump running dry. I only did a few miles before I spotted it or could have done a lot of damage.

In fairness the temporary repair done by the mobile mechanic is spot on and would probably last ages but for the sake of £30 and some oil I'll be sorting it asap.
 
Guys, when you fit your new pipe put something around it to stop it rubbing, I used some hose. The factory fitted foam is useless

How much oil you lost during the change? Only from reservoir and from pipe? Have you used new hose clamps for the new pipe?
