Have you cleaned the sensors ?
We used to clean out the contacts with brake cleaner, then leave them to drain (contacts facing down) overnight then restart. This is a usual area to cause problems due to engine oil migration from the head down the wiring to the ECU...

Electric contact cleaner is a better choice

those are only refference numbers for the codes allocated by hawkeye not actual fault codes as the OBDII codes are, but that's all you can get from any tester, the description of the code, about what can cause those codes it's quite simple, it's described for the similar OBDII fault code:
P0204 - Cylinder 4 Injector Circuit Malfunction ,
CAUSES : Bad injector.
This is usually the cause of this code but doesn't rule out the possibility of one of the other causes:
Open in the wiring to the injector
Short in the wiring to the injector
Bad ECM

Is there anywhere I can find out anymore information about codes 3186 and 3216? or is the information limited to what's displayed on the Hawkeye? Thanks.

Is there a full list on RAVE CD in the Technical Brochure - EOBD (European On Board Diagnostics) Section ?

there's no such thing in RAVE cos D2 is not EOBD compliant, you can download EOBD code list from the web but it's for no buig help anyway

I've now bought a replacement injector for number 4 injector and installed it, having noted down the code letters I await the man with the Hawkeye to come and programme it in. Meanwhile I've gone through all the wiring and checked/cleaned everything, there's nothing left to check or replace. Will update once the injector is programmed in :)

Hi Nigel
Thanks for "closing off" your thread. Mine had exactly the same issue which turned out to be No2 injector failed, I didnt think it could be the problem at first as I had paid for the injectors to be rebuilt but that was certainly it. Also I couldnt see how an injector could start playing up after the engine warmed up. My new injectors still not coded in yet but the engine runs ok, but sluggish though.
Mark
