Disco 2 TD5 - lost power after deleting EGR

Hi all

I have blocked my EGR valve this weekend and I noticed massive lost of power.
I have blocked the vacuum pipe with the plug that was supplied in the kit.

Is there is anything else that I need do?

did you remove the egr valve?

Yes I did, replaced it with the straight pipe that came with the set, and blanked the vacuum pipe with the rubber stick that was also included in the kit.

and blanked the pipe from exhaust manifold to the valve

Yes I did with the metal plate with gasket.
I will go and look under the bonnet in a minute.

Have a read of this and see if you dropped a prverbial.

Thank you, just had a read.
The only think I didn't do is the vacuum plug I have not unplugged that.

Did you clean the MAP sensor?

Yes I did clean MAP sensor.

Make sure you plugged it back well

If you have followed all steps to remove your EGR, "massive lost of power" should not come from it. Could it be that during your work you have demaged, removed something which couses your issue. Check all connectors, pipes and if you can, read error codes.

MAP sensor was unplugged. looks like after cleaning it out I decided not to plug it back in - hehe thanks guys for help

... that's why i said about it cos happened to me too when i fitted a bran' new one
