Hi Guys,

My TD5 has traction control, and very clever it is too, when it works, as long as it works.

I want to be able to lock the centre diff manually - when I want to lock it.

The transfer box serial number is a 69 I think meaning maybe the locking bits aren't in there.

Does anyone know how to convert my transfer box to locking centre diff please?

£500 plus VAT plus fitting, if you don't DIY. The price was 180+140 (+VAT + fitting) some 2 or 3 years ago ...

The important part is the mod in the transfer box. Try to contact other LR gearbox specialists/refurbishing companies in UK and see if you can get a better price.
Another option would be to replace the whole unit with a recon one (that has the CDL), it does worth if yours is on its way out or close to that (which I don't think so).

As for the linkage there are other options, less fancy but cheaper. From a simple steel cable with a jacket or other DIY simple linkages up to solenoid activated ones. There some places on the net from where you can get inspired. But don't worry about the linkage for the moment. Try to solve the 1st part and then, depending on the remaining budget, you will chose which way to go.
