So…being Defender and Series person I’m looking at selling one to get a Disco. I’ve seen one for £2400 with 177k on the clock. These engines are a unknown to me and it’s got part history - potential buyer but are the TD5 ok for miles?

thanks

Ive got a friend with one on 200k, i bought mine on 110k, mines needed a hg, new clutch, new transfer box, brake caliper, exhaust manifold, and some other bits and bobs, i think 177k all of that stuff would of already been replaced, price seems a bit steep unless its mint though

So had a look, leaky sunroofs, Rev counter sometimes works, 2 x warning lights and some corrosion (see MOT Checker). Tidy overall for a 2004 but would prefer an Auto box.

Still on Gum Tree (Tidworth) if interested

Did you offer him anything or just leave? I’d say for a grand it would be alright providing rust isn’t major

The previous MOT also made me wary - clean and tidy inside (less headlining) would be a good project….

Even heaps of **** are going for stupid money at the moment. Good D2's are £3-4k from adverts. You can get them cheaper but not from ads.
