Dear All,

The flexible buttons on all my keyfobs have dropped to bits. I bought a replacement for for a couple of quid but found it so poorly 'copied' that I even took the time to send it back.. The problem is with the stiffness of the rubber part. Also the key blade is a poor fit in the socket.
My question then is does anyone know if there is a better quality copy of the original Valeo fob? I have seen these offered at various prices but they all appear to be of the same manufacture;
Best,
Pat

I sent mine to a place just outside Heathrow, the replace the casing and also the two micro switches and battery for £15 delivered.
Was a 3 day turnaround and I found them to be most excellent and they use genuine parts none of your chinese rubbish.
Sent the 2nd one for a refurb as well, when I got the first one back

Thanks Chaps,
Maybe I had a bad one (fleabay) . I had to push the button quite hard and watch for the red indicator to flash. I gave up when I noticed the indicator continually flashing and had to pull the fob apart on a car park at night and push the switches on the circuit board to get into the car!!! I blagged an old genuine case from my local specialist (Ashley 4x4) so have three in all; and all knackered now.
The Heathrow option sounds right for me, can you supply the address please?

Best,

Pat

I've bought two genuine Valeo keys with barcode from an ebay seller in the far east, both fine, about £60 each by memory.

Not had a lot of success with the repair kits.

The switches seem bullet-proof it's the flexible rubber/composite stuff that fails after a million or so operations. Come to think of, my motor is 1999 Vreg about 16years old; average say 5 'pushes/day 16x5x356=29200: nowhere near a million. Rubbish!

They do fail, seen loads of that design switch fail, it is fitted to so many different fobs it is unreal.
