Hi there the relay that you are referring to is known as a split charging relay and costs £10.33 from Dingbro spares but I don’t think that is your problem as I had the same fault on my td5 last week and fault turned out to be the bracket that holds the secondary socket in place that is attached via the tow bar and was rotten away with rust so I replaced the bracket and problem solved for £4.00. Hope this helps you out

5 years on I guess he might have got it sorted by now.:doh::doh:

:welcome2: to landyzone by the way.:)

May I offer up Tuftee as evidence???

evidence of what? Driver abuse? Lazy bastiditus? homework for weldersining class hasn't been done? Trees can grow through landys if left parked for long enough? The cold war is over and U-boats are no longer needed? You can't stop rust? MHM's dimentia has got that bad he forgot what was under the tarpaulin on his drive? :D:D:D

The injectors in your '96 Disco have nothing whatsoever in common with the Lucas-Delphi electronic injectors in a TD5.

For a start, a TD5 doesn't have in injection pump, nor is it a common-rail diesel.

Hi,
my td5 is acting in a similar way slight miss, a mates computer readout tells you to check the wiring and then the injectors for one sticking.
I will replace the wiring loom first as when i removed the plug from the socket it was driping with oil.
If that doesnt work then i will have the injectors tested.
By the way try Diesel Bobs at Ribchester near Blackburn, he tests and recons injectors. I had mine done on the jeep i had befor. Take a look at his website.
I will let you know how i get on with mine.
Bye for now.

just logged on to the site and found some of you are
having misfires on the td5 i had the same with mine
before you all part with your hard earned check the injector harness
plug its just on the front left hand side of the rocker cover.
release plug and you will find oil on the conections a drop off electrical spray and a wipe should sort it. the harness is easy to reaplace its under the rocker cover and takes about a hour to do they cost around £35

Before you start replacing injectors swap them over if the fault follows the injector then fault found, if it stays with the same cylinder then the loom is at fault. Find the root cause before throwing £ at it, any garage worth its salt should do this first!!

Not a good start for you.... Beside being a very old thread, you are wrong, swapping injectors in the way you say is not conclusive proof of a faulty loom.Other causes can be poor compression or a dying ecu etc......
Fink you are supposed to go through a load of crap introducing yourself or risk being flamed by arsey members, cant see a lot of point really,if you have something useful to say or are in trouble needing help it just wastes time.
